Vegan Un-Cheese Sauce Recipe





















VEGAN UN-CHEESE SAUCE

2 C water
1/4 C raw cashews, rinsed
1 4 oz jar pimientos including liquid
4 tbs Nutritional yeast flakes
3 tbs cornstarch
1 tbs fresh or bottled lemon juice
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder

Combine all ingredient in a Blendtec Blender.

Blend on setting #4 or the Frozen Fruit setting.

Pour mixture in a 2 quart sauce pan.

Cook on high heat. Constantly stir until thick and bubbly.

Remove from heat and serve hot.

Good served on baked potatoes with broccoli or use as a dip for tortilla chips.

Note: You can easily make this recipe in a VitaMix Blender. If your blender is less than 2 - 3 hp, blend cashews in 1/2 cup water until the cashews are completely ground and smooth. Add remaining ingredients with 1 1/2 cup water. Blend on high until well blended. Follow cooking instructions as above.
