Soak 3.5 oz (1/2 cup)dry soy beans in 2 cups water for 6 - 10 hours at room temperature.

Drain soaked soy beans. Put the soy beans in the "Milk" screen basket of your Soybella Soy Milk Maker or your SoyQuick Soy Milk Maker. Work the grinding blade down into the soy beans and twist the screen basket onto the motor.

Add 1 liter of water to the pot and put the motor/lid on with the soy beans and basket attached. Press the "Milk" button.

It takes about 15 minutes for the machine to make soy milk.

Caution: The milk and the pot will be hot when the milk is done.

Carefully remove the top/motor when the machine is done. Place the screen basket in the plastic container provided and twist the motor off the basket. Immediately clean the blade and the bottom of the motor housing. DO NOT immerse in water.

Allow the basket contents to cool and drain. When the thick paste is cool, scrape the "Okara" from the screen basket into a Pure Joy Nut Milk Bag and squeeze the remaining liquid from the okara.

Keep the Okara which is high in nutrients. Use dried okara as you would use bread crumbs or use it to replace part of flour in baked goods.

HOW TO DRY THE WET OKARA FOR FUTURE USE:

METHOD 1: After squeezing as much liquid out of the cooled okara, spread the okara on a microwave safe plate. Microwave on high for 6 - 10 minutes. It is important to stir the okara every 2 minutes until it is quite dry.

Place the okara in a freezer zip bag and freeze until you are ready to us it.

METHOD 2: After squeezing as much liquid out of the cooled okara, spread the okara on a cookie sheet and bake in a 200 degree oven until completely dry. Stir the okara about every 15 minutes to break up the lumps.
