The best way to remove mold from your Harsch Fermenting Crock Pot is to wash the CERAMIC part of the pot with mild dish soap and water then rinse will.
The unglazed stones and lid should be boiled in a mild vinegar/water solution for about 10 minutes then rinse with clear water. You can also boil the stone in clear water for 10 minutes after boiling it in the vinegar solution if you wish.
To dry the stones, lid and pot (if it fits) is in your oven. Place them in the oven after you have cooked a meal, then turn the oven off. Leave them in the oven until the oven has cooled. Or you can heat your oven up to about 400 degrees, put the parts in the oven right on the rack and turn the oven off.
If you don't feel your stones are mold free you can repeat the cleaning process.
Once your weight stones are clean you can place them in a zip lock bag when you use them in the fermenting pot to keep them dry.
Store your clean, dry pot with the lid off so moisture will not collect in it. The key to a mold free fermenting pot is to keep it dry when you are not using it.
