China Dragon Phoenix Pearl Green Tea - Rolled Leaf Pearls
Where it is grown
A green tea with a hint of jasmine.
Since the Sung Dynasty, Green Tea enriched with the fragrance of jasmine has been an all-time favorite for nearly 800 years. Dragon Phoenix Pearl gets its name from the visual characteristics of the tea bushes "climbing" the hillsides like a dragon coming out of the water. The tea is picked in April/May and processed by hand. Once rolled, the tea is wrapped in silk mesh and dried by fire to set the form. The tea is then held until August/September when the finest jasmine blossoms are in bloom. The jasmine flowers are picked before noon and set aside until evening when the petals begin to open in the cool night air. Once open, the "marrying" of the jasmine to the tea happens in two applications after which the jasmine petals are removed.

How to brew a perfect cup of tea.
Use 1 teaspoon, or 2 if you like it stronger, of tea per 1 cup of water.
Green should be steeped in water that is cooler than boiling. It can be as hot as 175 degrees. Water that is higher than 175 degrees will damage the leaves leaving your green tea with a bitter taste. Steep these teas for 3 minutes for best results.
How to store my tea leaves.
Once you open your bag of tea from VeggieSensations.com put the tea leaves, or the opened package of tea, into an air tight container or package. Place that sealed package or container in a dark, dry cupboard.
Black tea will stay fresh in an air tight container for up to 2 years. All other teas will last less than 2 years. Your tea is past it's prime when it no longer has the fragrant aroma you could smell when you purchased it. They, also, will either have a muted taste or a bitter taste.
